Manager, Retirement Schemes Department
Bachelor of Engineering (First Class)

I joined the engineering industry after graduating with an engineering degree. After several years, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and look for a new challenge. The reason I gravitated towards CPFB is because CPF is an integral part of our lives; knowing that my work would have a direct and positive impact on Singaporeans motivated me to join them.

What drives me every day in CPFB, which I have been with for almost three years, is the meaningful work behind my role. I administer the Retirement Sum Topping-Up scheme which allows working family members to transfer their CPF savings to non-working family members. This helps ensure retirement adequacy for members who might have given up working for various reasons. I find this fulfilling as I am able to assist members to enhance their retirement adequacy from a family-centric perspective.

I lead a team of four in ensuring the smooth operations of the scheme. We implement policy changes and innovate in our service delivery to meet rising public expectations for better services. To be an effective leader, you need to be open to staff feedback. A strong understanding of your team’s strengths and areas for improvement, empowering your team to make decisions, and providing them with opportunities are important in showing that you truly value your team members. When they feel valued, they will be motivated and engaged in what they do.

I would recommend CPFB as a place to build your career. The work here is satisfying as you can improve the lives of Singaporeans. As CPF helps us save for our retirement, healthcare, and housing needs, there is a myriad of opportunities where you can create a positive impact on others. In addition, it is an exciting job owing to the evolving needs of the different demographics of CPF members. That is why you should join us!
